1. Introduction
Sendust cores are electrical components for diverse converter, inverter, choke coils, and etc., which made from ferrous alloy powder. The base material is 85%
iron, 6% aluminum and 9% silicon. The powders are insulated and then pressed into
various core shapes under very high pressure. Finally, we coated with a special
epoxy finish or cover with bobbin. These finishes provide a tough chemical resistance
and high dielectric protection for the cores.
2. Characteristics
Sendust cores with evenly distributed air gap have very low core loss and preserve
inductance stability even under high DC condition. Compared to iron powder core, sendust
core has a saturation flux density of 10,000 gauss which is much lower,
and its core loss could be as low as 40% to 50% of Iron powder core loss. Sendust
cores also exhibits very low magnetostriction coefficient, and it is therefore
suitable for applications requiring low audible noise.
3. Application
- Switching Regulators or Power Inductors in SMPS : High energe storage/filter
inductors used in switch mode power suppliers.
- In-Line Noise Filter
- Pulse and Fly-Back Transformers (Inductors)
- Phase Control SAR Circuits (Low audible noise) : Light dimmers & motor
speed control devices.
